Mary Coyle serves old-fashioned ice cream in their location in Akron, Ohio.
Mary Coyle was originally owned by Walter and Mary Coyle and was one of the five Mary Coyle Ice Cream Parlors opened by the couple that served old-fashioned ice cream in the state before the 1950s. The couple has sold their five branches when they moved out of the state and the Mary Coyle location that Ohioans know today is the last one of its kind. Over the years, it has been under different owners and is now owned and operated by Michael Trecaso with his Italian restaurant.
At Mary Coyle, customers can satisfy their sweet-tooth cravings with the variety of ice cream flavors that they offer. Most of the locals who have grown up in Akron have visited Mary Coyle at some point in their lives to enjoy ice cream on a hot day. Having been a part of the neighborhood for such a long time puts Mary Coyle in a special place among Akronites since for most of them, it reminds them of their childhood and brings back memories of a much simpler time.
At present, Mary Coyle has been put together in the same location with Michael Trecaso’s Italian Restaurant – making it a place where one can satisfy their cravings for Italian food and ice cream. The place atmosphere of the place has not changed much through the years and it’s one of those select locations in the city that gives one a nostalgic feeling when they’re inside. Whether you’re in the mood for some ice cream or piping hot Italian pizza, Mary Coyle is the place to go.
