Main Street Gourmet sells their delicious custom muffin batters in Akron, Ohio.

Main Street Gourmet was established in 1987 by Steve Marks and Harvey Nelson in Akron, Ohio. The idea to put up a muffin shop came about when Nelson discovered an old muffin recipe which he tweaked in order to be better. The bakeshop has also developed their own cookie dough and started to see their own frozen muffin batter a few years after they opened their shop.

Merely six years when they first opened their bakeshop in downtown Akron, Main Street Gourmet was named one of Inc. magazines 500 fastest growing companies in America – an achievement they attained through hard work and continuous effort to serve their customers the best of what the industry has to offer. Perhaps one of the best products they have for their customers are their custom batters, which allow them to create a batter according to their taste and preference. Main Street Gourmet also sells their fat-free and low fat batters for their health conscious clientele.

Aside from their corporate success, Main Street Gourmet has also been very active in their efforts to give back to the local community that has supported their business over the years. In fact, they are one of the sponsors for Muffins for Mammograms, a program that aids women without health insurance to be provided with mammography assistance. In the month of October, Main Street Gourmet helps raise enough funds for the program. The program has helped many women in Summit Country to screen early for breast cancer wherein it is still possible to provide treatment.
