EuroGyro serves Mediterranean dishes in their location in Akron, Ohio.
The first EuroGyro store was opened in Akron in 1979. It is owned and operated by George Istocki whose family is from Macedonia. Istocki came from a family of restaurant owners, so one might say that he was in his element when he opened his own restaurant. Over the years, he has grown his business from a regular sized restaurant into the 500 sq. ft. building that people see today located near the University of Akron.
EuroGyro specializes in Mediterranean dishes, like pizza, gyros, subs, salads, pizza pitas, and burgers and sandwiches. EuroGyro is perhaps one of those places in the city where one can have Mediterranean dishes at a price they can afford. Since a good number of their customers are college kids, EuroGyro tends to be more affordable than the other restaurants in Northeast Ohio that serves Mediterranean dishes.
Since the restaurant is located in a college campus, the owner of EuroGyro has seen the opportunity for late night pizza delivery in the area. They also have specials on Wednesday night where they offer $5 pizza for pickups. The restaurant takes pride in their gyros though and recommends that customers try it first when they visit the first time.
