October 2013 Akron rainfall has his record numbers. According to Ohio.com there has been a top 10 record for rainfall in October and the result is saturated yards.
Rainfall as of the last day of October pushed the Akron and Canton area into the top 10 soggiest Octobers in about 120 years of record-keeping.
Last year, the rainfall was 5.29 inches for eighth place. Back in 2011, 5.02 inches, ninth.
What is also unusual? By this time of year, we have usually had almost a half an inch of snow, but we have received only a trace — the result of slightly warmer temperatures all month.
Preliminary data Thursday evening showed Akron-Canton Airport had received about 5 inches of precipitation for the month, topping 4.8 inches in October 1995, which was 10th in the record book. The wettest October was 8.42 inches in 1954.
